Our Centre Philosophy

We are a team of passionate, highly qualified, nurturing and dedicated early childhood educators and we are all here for one purpose; to ensure that every child has the best early childhood experience that they can! We want your child, and by extension, you as a family to feel loved, nurtured, welcomed and accepted in everything that we do. We believe that for many we are an extension of your family and we are passionate about recognising families as a child’s first teacher.

We as a team believe that children are curious and filled with natural wonder! They are excited by their environment, to learn new things and as competent learners navigate the world with the support of trusted adults to grow into capable, contributing members of society. Each child in our service is respected for their beautiful spirit, their own culture and background and their unique personalities. Children are treated as intelligent individuals. We have a strong commitment as a team to ensure that your child can express their emotions safely, feel validated and know they are safe and in a space free from judgement as they take risks, explore the new learning available to them and grow to learn and understand the very important role that each of them holds within our community.

Parents, grandparents, siblings and other members of your family support network are welcome here. We pride ourselves on providing a place of equity and inclusion, where people from all walks of life are welcomed, respected and loved. We believe that each person has a story and that as a community we are stronger together. We believe in proximal development, in scaffolding children’s knowledge to help them take risks and reach new heights.

We celebrate success! Little things matter just as much as the big things. Share your story with us, we want to get to know you and involve you in our family. Here you matter, here you are a part of a community of people who love children and families and want to see each person succeed and grow into their full potential. Our community respects the Turrbul people, the original land owners on which our facilities stand and where we come together to learn, play and grow.

Our children and families are provided with beautiful big and open indoor learning spaces, and stunning outdoor areas. Natural trees, lighting and ventilation and purposefully chosen resources provide an environment where children can be, belong and grow holistically. We treasure a childhood where children play and are loved and feel safe. Our home-like environments and practices provide our children and their families with the warm sense of the familiar – a home away from home.

We are supported by a management company who provide high-quality training and support for our educational team. Our management professionals know children by their names, they know our family’s stories and are committed to providing the highest quality of care and education, and support to children, families and the teaching team. Hands-on support and care are guaranteed, from every aspect of our service.

As early childhood professionals, we remain committed to ongoing professional development and professional practices.  We value differences, new ideas and understanding our families in their needs and their understanding of their children. We are here because we know that what we do and how we do it can make a real difference in the lives of those who we support. We strive for excellence in all that we do, and all that we provide.

Our Rooms

Nursery – Birth to 2 years

Our Nursery is designed to ensure that all aspects of the development of Infants is accommodated and encouraged.  We have a separate sleep room, which allows children to sleep when they need to, respecting their home routines.  Children are offered age and developmentally appropriate stimulation and encouragement to explore, engage, experience and communicate – as only infants can! Our babies are treated as whole, capable and communicative people who are treated with care, love and respect.

Toddlers – 15 months to 2 1/2 years

The spaces in our toddler environment are designed to encourage the children to explore, discover, create and imagine through a play-based curriculum. The environment and program are vibrant and flexible and the teaching team are responsive to the interests and abilitis of each child.  Children go on a journey of learning through dramatic play, construction, art, sensory exploration, music and movement, storytelling and social interactions

Juniors – 2 to 3 years

The verbal development of our Juniors is actively encouraged – this is a key time for our children to explore their capabilities and develop a strong ‘sense of self’.  An exciting time of discovery and development and the Junior room is designed to ensure that it stimulates and encourages interest, engagement, relationship building, exploration, language and ownership of their environment.  Children are encouraged in these aspects through ongoing deep conversation, strong observation and support of learning.  You will see lots of opportunity for engagement including; more complex puzzles, books, letters, words, role play and construction materials.  The juniors participate in an indoor/ outdoor program with the children from older rooms along with regular community morning tea.

Pre Kindy 3 to 4 years

Pre-Kindy children are further developing their language skills, often developing specific interests in activities that engage them for longer periods of time;  with increasing complexity.  Individual interests and preferences are readily apparent, our team works hard to ensure that the environments and activities provided offer further stimulation, the capacity to build on capabilities and strengthen skill sets.  Mathematical reasoning concepts are explored through science and cooking experiences.  Language skills and relationship building skills are enhanced through opportunities for conversations and reflection as groups and one on one.  Physical skills are developed through increasingly complex challenges and opportunities to take risk.   The capabilities of 3-4 year olds are amazing to observe and our team ensure interests and challenges are documented and occasions to discover more are consistently provided.

Kindergarten 4 to 5 years

We are proud to offer a Queensland Kindergarten Programme at our Centre.  Our Kindergarten programme is led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher – Bachelor qualified to deliver a programme grounded in the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.  Your child will further develop their skills, knowledge and capabilities in our play-based learning environment.  “School readiness” is primarily ensuring your child is emotionally, physically and socially ready to embark upon the next, more formal, stage of their educational ‘career’.  We remain focussed on support, encouragement, opportunity for learning and individual interests – while ensuring your child’s knowledge, love of learning and capacity to self-regulate is steadily increasing.  The opportunities for learning will focus on further building confidence and abilities – verbally, emotionally, cognitively, physically and socially.
